As part of the onboarding process for a teen to start therapy at Talkspace, a parent/guardian may need to provide their consent.
You can help your teen get started by following the sign up instructions in our article, Teen Therapy at Talkspace: What Parents/Guardians and Teens Should Know.
Alternatively, if your teen already started the sign up process, they'll need to provide their parent or legal guardian's contact information, including their first name, last name, and email address. Talkspace will then send a consent request email to the provided address to obtain permission to start services.
In the email, the parent or legal guardian will be asked to:
- Review their name and relationship to the teen.
- Acknowledge Talkspace's Informed Consent, Notice of Privacy Practices, and Privacy Policy.
- Provide consent for the teen to receive therapy from Talkspace providers.
- Complete the consent process by clicking "Submit consent."
If you’re experiencing trouble with the consent process, check out the following:
- The sender and recipient email addresses.
- When the form was received.
- When the form link was clicked.
- Whether a Talkspace account was logged in on same browser when the link was accessed.
