In a couples therapy room on Talkspace, there are two types of account holders: the primary account holder and the secondary account holder. Both account holders have access to the same therapy room and can attend live joint sessions from separate devices. Here’s what sets them apart:
Primary Account Holder
The primary account holder is the person who first signed up for couples therapy, either purchased the subscription, used health insurance or other benefits to cover the cost, and invited the other person to join the therapy room.
This individual manages the account, including the ability to:
- Schedule live sessions
- Change the provider
- Check the clinical progress tracker
- Respond to assessments sent by the provider
- Manage subscription details
- Cancel the plan
- Request a superbill
Secondary Account Holder
The secondary account holder is the person added to the couples therapy room by the primary account holder. While they can participate in therapy sessions, manage their personal profile, and communicate with the provider, they will need to work with the primary account holder on the items listed above.
