How do I change my provider?

Finding the right therapist is essential to unlocking all of the benefits of therapy. Here is a great article from our blog on How to Find the Right Therapist for you.

In order to experience the full benefit of therapy, we ask that you give your current provider a chance—it may take some time to get to know them. If you still feel your provider is not a good fit, we want to make sure you get the best possible care by being able to switch to a new provider when you feel it's necessary.

Please keep in mind that if you move to a different state, you may need to be rematched with a provider who is licensed in your state.

To request a new provider through your account:

  1. Log into your account at www.talkspace.com.
  2. Click on your nickname located on the top-left corner of the screen.
  3. From the dropdown, click View payment and plan.
  4. On the Payment and plan page, click Change provider.
    • For clients with multiple subscriptions/rooms, you'll need to locate the correct room details to update.  
  5. Review your matches and Select your new provider.
    • If you’re not happy with the options presented, click Get matched again.
  6. Choose your chat history sharing preferences and click Confirm.
    • Once selected, you will not be able to update your sharing preferences.
  7. Click Continue with (provider name) to confirm your match.

If you want to work with a previous provider, you can email our support team at support@talkspace.com from the email address linked to your Talkspace account for assistance. Be sure to provide us with the provider's name for efficient service.
