In addition to individual therapy benefits, some Employee Assistance Programs that partner with Talkspace also offer couples therapy as an option!
If you're interested in signing up for couples therapy through your EAP benefits, here’s where you can start:
If you’re new to Talkspace and want to start couples therapy with your EAP benefit, follow these steps:
- Confirm eligibility: Reach out to your EAP provider to confirm that you’re eligible for couples therapy.
- Ask about coverage verification: Your EAP provider will let you know how to verify your coverage for Talkspace; this usually involves an authorization code or keyword, plus a link to your EAP’s dedicated Talkspace sign-up page.
- Sign up: Open the link they provide you with and click Get started.
-
Choose your service: Fill out the required fields, selecting Couples therapy under the service question.
- If you don’t see this option, select Therapy instead and finish creating your account. Please avoid sending any messages in the room. Instead, contact our Support team immediately to update your room type to couples therapy.
- Complete setup: Continue through the prompts to finish creating your account.
If you're an existing Talkspace member and want to add couples therapy to your account using your EAP benefits, follow these steps:
- Confirm eligibility: Reach out to your EAP provider to confirm that you’re eligible for couples therapy.
-
Get authorization for couples therapy: You’ll need a separate authorization for couples therapy. Ask your EAP provider how they will submit the new authorization to Talkspace.
- If your EAP provider states they will submit the authorization to us directly: Please allow 5–7 business days for us to process it. If you don’t hear from us within that time frame, contact our Support team to check in.
- If your provider gives you an authorization code: Use it to add couples therapy directly within your account. This will create a new room for you. Make sure it has the “Couples Therapy” tag (as shown in the image below) before sending any messages. If the tag is missing, contact our Support team to update your room type.
NOTE: If you’re using multiple Talkspace services, such
as individual
therapy and couples therapy, you’ll have a different provider for each service
to keep your care unbiased.
