Using Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Benefits for Talkspace

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a workplace benefit that supports employees with personal issues affecting their work and well-being. EAPs offer free, confidential counseling separate from standard health insurance, allowing employees to access therapy without using regular health coverage. If your employer covers Talkspace through an EAP, the benefits available to you may include:

  • Individual therapy
  • Couples therapy

With an EAP benefit, you'll receive a set number of prepaid credits to access Talkspace therapy sessions. These sessions are structured and solution-focused, and if needed, referrals may be provided for longer-term care.

Depending on your benefits, credits can be used towards asynchronous text messaging or live sessions. Please note, asynchronous text messaging sessions remain open for 7 days after initiation or until your Talkspace therapy provider attests to its completion. To learn more about the differences between live sessions and messaging, visit How Does Talkspace Work?
