Accepted Forms of Payment/Coverage

With Talkspace, you can get mental health care - with or without insurance. We set out to make the process convenient, accessible, and affordable so you can connect with a mental health care provider quickly.

We accept payment through major US health plans, employer coverage, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and out-of-pocket with a credit or debit card. At this time, Talkspace does not accept international health plans. If you are still interested in our services, we recommend checking out our out-of-pocket plans.

With these ways to pay for therapy, you’re just a few clicks away from getting started on your path towards healing. To receive a pricing quote, sign up for an account with us today!

US Health Insurance or Behavioral Health Benefits
A health plan is the most prominent and well-known way to pay for some or all of your therapy. We invite you to find out more at Is Talkspace covered by my health plan, Medicare, EAP, employer?
Employer Coverage
Research shows that when employees have adequate access to mental health care, they’re more effective and productive in their jobs, happier, and miss less work.

This incentive has ultimately resulted in more employers offering health care plans that include mental health coverage. Talkspace has partnered with hundreds of employers and organizations across the country, eliminating a huge part of the barrier to access so many people faced in the past. If you want to know if your employer offers covered online therapy through Talkspace, reach out to your company’s HR department.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) Sessions
Many workplace EAPs offer employees a specified number of therapy sessions.

If your EAP covers mental health care, you can get started after a brief assessment that takes less than two minutes to complete. You’ll be matched with a provider and can begin therapy, often in a matter of days.

Out-of-Pocket via Major Debit or Credit Cards
No coverage? Even if you don't have benefits that help cover mental health services, Talkspace is still more affordable than most in-person therapy and you can pay for care out-of-pocket with any major credit card or debit card.

Some Talkspace clients use a credit or debit card for their subscription and then submit the bill to their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Saving Account (HSA) plan administrator and receive 50-90% of the cost of Talkspace back.

Check in with your FSA/HSA provider to confirm what information they need to accept the bill. How can I receive an invoice (superbill) for services? will guide you through how to request an invoice from Talkspace.

You may also submit a superbill to your insurance, and be partially or fully reimbursed. This option can be especially beneficial if Talkspace isn't contracted with your insurance plan.

Ways You Can't Pay for Talkspace
We strive to make therapy as accessible as possible for members. We take multiple forms of payment and offer several options to make treatment more affordable. However, there are a few payment methods you cannot use for Talkspace therapy. You can’t pay for Talkspace services with:
  • PayPal
  • Personal or business checks
  • ACH payments
  • Crypto

Please note, Talkspace does not offer gift cards, nor do we allow non-account holders to purchase sessions or subscriptions for account holders (ie. friends, family members).
