Talkspace accepts payment through most major US health insurance plans, employer coverage, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and out-of-pocket with a credit or debit card. We currently don't accept international health plans.
Talkspace partners with many insurers and organizations to make mental health services, like individual therapy, couples therapy, teen therapy, and psychiatry, more accessible. The services available to you depend on your specific insurance plan or benefits.
To confirm which services your plan covers and in what format (messaging, live sessions, or both), please contact your benefits provider.
You can also review the resources below for more details on starting Talkspace with different types of benefits:
Even if you don't have benefits that help cover mental health services, Talkspace is still more affordable than most in-person therapy.
You can pay out-of-pocket using any major credit or debit card.
Some Talkspace members choose to pay with a credit or debit card and then submit their bill to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) provider. Many are able to receive 50–90% of the cost back through reimbursement.
To do this, check with your FSA or HSA provider to confirm what documentation they require. You can request a superbill from Talkspace by following the steps in How Do I Get an Invoice or Superbill?
You may also submit a superbill to your insurance for possible partial or full reimbursement. This option can be especially beneficial if Talkspace isn't contracted with your insurance plan. We recommend contacting your health plan before starting Talkspace to inquire about potential reimbursement.
You can’t pay for Talkspace services with:
- PayPal
- Personal or business checks
- ACH payments
- Crypto
At this time, we don't offer payment plans, financial assistance, or free therapy services.
