How to Enable Microphone and Camera Permissions on My Device

If Talkspace can’t access your microphone or camera, you won’t be able to send voice or video messages, or be seen or heard in live sessions. To resolve this, adjust your device or web browser settings, depending on how you’re using Talkspace.

Web Browser Talkspace App
Web Browser

When you join a live session or try to send voice or video messages on Talkspace using a web browser, you’ll see a prompt asking for permission to access your camera and microphone.

  • Chrome, Firefox, Edge: Look for a popup near the website URL/address bar.
  • Safari (iPhone/iPad or Mac): A system popup will appear.

If you accidentally block or dismiss the prompt:

On Desktop Browsers

  1. Click the icon next to the Talkspace website URL in your browser's address bar.
  2. Change Camera and Microphone permissions from Block to Allow. You may need to open Site settings to access these options.
  3. Refresh the Talkspace page.

On Mobile Browsers

  1. Open your device Settings.
  2. Find the browser you’re using (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  3. Turn on Camera and Microphone access.
  4. Return to the browser and refresh the Talkspace page.
