If Talkspace can’t access your microphone or camera, you won’t be able to send voice or video messages, or be seen or heard in live sessions. To resolve this, adjust your device or web browser settings, depending on how you’re using Talkspace.
| Web Browser |
When you join a live session or try to send voice or video messages on Talkspace using a web browser, you’ll see a prompt asking for permission to access your camera and microphone.
- Chrome, Firefox, Edge: Look for a popup near the website URL/address bar.
- Safari (iPhone/iPad or Mac): A system popup will appear.
If you accidentally block or dismiss the prompt:
On Desktop Browsers
- Click the icon next to the Talkspace website URL in your browser's address bar.
- Change Camera and Microphone permissions from Block to Allow. You may need to open Site settings to access these options.
- Refresh the Talkspace page.
On Mobile Browsers
- Open your device Settings.
- Find the browser you’re using (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
- Turn on Camera and Microphone access.
- Return to the browser and refresh the Talkspace page.
| Talkspace App |
When you join a live session or send voice or video messages in the Talkspace app, you may see a prompt about camera and microphone access. Tapping Open settings on the prompt will take you to your device settings to turn on camera and microphone access.
If you don't see the prompt or have trouble enabling your camera or microphone:
On iOS device (iPhone or iPad)
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Click through Camera and Microphone to turn on access for the Talkspace app.
On Android device
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Click on Talkspace app > Permissions.
- Tap Allow for necessary features.
