Why Do I Have to Provide My Payment Information When Talkspace is Covered?

Many of our members access Talkspace services through health insurance, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), employers, or other sponsored benefits.

Even if you’re covered by these benefits, Talkspace may collect your payment information for the following reasons:

  • Cost-sharing

If you use health insurance to access Talkspace services, you may still be  responsible for out-of-pocket costs, such as copayments, coinsurance, and/or deductibles. We collect your payment information to process these charges in case they apply.

  • Booking sessions beyond your benefits

If you receive Talkspace services for free through an employer or other sponsored benefits, we may request payment information if you book additional sessions beyond what’s covered by your benefits within a given month or year. For details about what is included in your plan and how it works, visit Where Can I Find Details About My Talkspace Plan, Payment, and Coverage?

  • Late cancellation or rescheduling fees

If you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your live session, or if you miss the session, a fee may apply. If your session is subject to this fee, you’ll receive notification both  in advance of your appointment and when making last-minute changes to your scheduled session.

  • Temporary charges

A temporary $10 hold charge may be placed on your account to verify your card and secure your spot with the next available provider. If this hold fee applies to you, you’ll see a message about it on the checkout page. This fee will not be collected and will be removed within 3-7 business days.
