Talkspace Services + Pricing

Talkspace offers comprehensive telehealth treatment options, including therapeutic services and psychiatric care to meet all your needs. In our commitment to offering accessible, effective mental health care, we’ve partnered with most major insurers and offer easy out-of-network reimbursement claims. Explore the services below to find the best fit for you.

Therapy Psychiatry Couples
At Talkspace, therapy is used as an umbrella term and refers to talk therapy, which is also known as psychotherapy. Under this plan, you'll work with a therapist to understand your personal goals and come up with a plan to help you start feeling better.

Therapists include psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and counselors; they're not able to prescribe medication. For this, Talkspace gives you the option to switch to psychiatry or sign up for psychiatry in addition to therapy, if desired.

How much does Talkspace Therapy cost?
Getting mental health care shouldn’t be difficult. That’s why we set out to make online therapy convenient, accessible, and, most importantly, affordable.

Even if you don't have benefits that cover mental health services, Talkspace is still more affordable than most in-person therapy. If you choose to pay out-of-pocket, all of Talkspace's therapy plans are recurring subscriptions— billed automatically on either a monthly, quarterly, or biannual basis— with frequency chosen by you when you sign up.

We’re committed to offering you accessible, high-quality clinical care by licensed therapists at a great price. (Keep in mind: the average cost of a traditional in-person therapy session is $175 - $500 per session a big departure from our plans!)

Can a minor under the age of 18 sign up for Talkspace Therapy? (Teen Counseling State Requirements)
During the teenage years, a lot of changes are happening at once—physically, hormonally, and developmentally. Prioritizing mental health is just as important as grades, accomplishments, or college admissions. With Talkspace, teens can find a counselor or therapist they feel safe with to work through various challenges.

Talkspace has taken all legal requirements into consideration to support dependents/users ages 13-17. Each U.S. state has different requirements regarding what age necessitates parental consent to start therapy and whether the provider can disclose information to the parent/guardian without the adolescent’s consent. The vast majority of U.S. states require parental/guardian consent for a teen to enter into therapy and do not allow providers to share information with a teen client’s parent/guardian without official authorization and signed release. All Talkspace providers have familiarized themselves with the rules of their respective states.

There are specific exceptions to consent that vary by state, such as being an emancipated minor. If you believe that one of these exceptions might apply to you, please contact us at support@talkspace.com.

Like our adult clients, teen clients (ages 13-17) can connect with their provider through online real-time sessions and/or communicate in a secure, private room that is available 24/7, depending on the selected plan.

To discover more about how teens can make the most of their therapy and what they can expect from using Talkspace, here's a great article from our blog.

I’m the parent/guardian of a teen interested in starting Talkspace therapy. How do I grant consent to their treatment?
If your teen is a minor in a state that requires parental/legal guardian consent for starting therapy, you’ll be asked to provide and upload an online recording of consent (by reading a script provided by Talkspace) and proof of identification. This online provision of consent and identification is digitally recorded and provided using the Talkspace HIPAA compliant app.

*Talkspace partners with a number of employers, U.S. health plans, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and educational organizations to help cover the full or partial cost of services.
Contact your benefits department or call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to see if you qualify for this benefit. Please note, Talkspace does not have access to your individual insurance benefits information and we will not be able to confirm your final costs before a claim processes. Your patient responsibility can be confirmed with your health plan.
