How Can I Receive an Invoice (Superbill) for Services?

We're happy to offer superbills to clients looking to receive an invoice for Talkspace services.

A superbill invoice includes all charges incurred during your billing cycle/dates of services, medical procedure codes (CPT), diagnosis codes (ICD-10), and cost breakdown per session. This type of invoice is typically needed when submitting for reimbursement to your health plan or FSA/HSA provider.

It's important to note that our superbill adheres to standardized billing requirements and, as such, cannot be customized to include specific coding or language.

To request an invoice from Talkspace:

For clients paying out of pocket

NOTE: The option to download a superbill may not be available, if:

  • Your country of residence is outside of the US.
  • You're not renewing or you've cancelled your subscription.

If this applies to you and you're unable to download a superbill, please contact our Support team with your full name and month(s) or specific charge(s) you're requesting documentation for, 3 days after your current billing cycle ends.

US based clients who pay out-of-pocket for their Talkspace account are able to download superbills directly from our platform. 

Superbills become available 3 days after the end of each billing cycle or session, provided that both your full name and a diagnosis from your provider are on file. For psychiatry sessions or individually purchased live sessions that are not part of your therapy subscription, you'll also need to wait 3 days after the session is completed for the superbill to be generated.  You can request to be notified once it's available in your notification settings

To view available superbills:

  1. Log in at www.talkspace.com or on the Talkspace app.
  2. Click on Account (Account Icon.png) at the top right.
  3. Select Payment and plan.
  4. Under your out-of-pocket plan, click View superbills.

Disclaimer: Please be aware that submitting a superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement of previous out-of-pocket costs does not guarantee reimbursement. Insurance plans may have different coverage policies, and the services listed on this superbill may not be covered under your specific plan. It is your responsibility to verify with your insurance provider whether these expenses are eligible for reimbursement before submission. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact your insurance provider directly.

For clients with employee benefits or health plan coverage
Clients who receive Talkspace through a third party, such as an employer, an organization, a health plan, etc., can request a superbill from our support team. We recommend reaching out every 3 or 6 months for them to ensure your request is processed without delay. Please send us a support request once you've logged in to your account with the following:
  • Your full name
  • Month(s) or specific charge(s) you are requesting documentation for

Please note that superbills can only be generated at the end of your current billing cycle, when all included sessions are completed. For Behavioral Health (BH) clients, superbills can only be provided once claims have been fully processed.
